Last weekend saw the annual summer tournament held at Hanson School, with an excellent turnout despite pretty horrible weather as the day went on. There were 16 teams in all, and the tournament started with short round-robin groups before being split into cup and plate competitions, with another group round followed by semi-finals and then finals.
It was great to see so many other clubs there and catch up with everyone before the long summer break. As usual Shipley had a good turnout of teams with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th and under-16 squads playing - well done to the under-16s for playing so well against the ladies' teams! Great thanks and appreciation is also due to the organisers, umpires and supporters who turned out on the day and made the whole thing go so smoothly. Here's hoping for better weather next year ...
